Although the private club UGC ‘De Pan’ has the respectable age of 115 years, the course, designed by H.S. Colt, was built in 1928, when the club moved from Doorn to Bosch en Duin.

The first 50 years membership was small, so maintenance was rather easy. With the demands of today, some 800 members plus many greenfee guests, more greenkeeping staff was needed. To maintain the characteristics of Colts ideas as the very prominent designer he was, extra care is taken to protect the subtle lines in the greens. With the explosion in equipment and balls, it looked as if De Pan was becoming too easy. More and more eagles and even the occasional albatross were made. It would be very nice if this championship brings new course records.

Golf Club the Pan is situated near the city of Utrecht, about 50 km. south of Amsterdam.
